Hey fellow queenies who were
unable to play tonight; we won 4-3 with great goals by "on fire
Phoebs (2)", "sharp shot Sava" and "Nasty Nicole
(that's what the other team was calling her)". Great "D"
by our new defense, Jackie and Trisha (of course our old D is always
fab (Kyle and Ashley). It was great having Sue back. Sarah and Suzie
got real close to poppin' one in; I think Sat. they will get one (or
two). Thanks to Megan and Lars for coming to coach us and thanks to our
fan, Paula for standing in that cold weather to cheer us on (she did
have a nice furry coat and boots to keep her
warm).

Late third period goals by Natalie
Hamill and Phoebe Outerbridge helped to bring QHC within 2 goals of
their opponent. However it was too little, too late and resulted in a
loss. A game filled with injuries - QHC was truely thrashed
tonight!

Phoebe was not satisfied with
simply a hat trick - she scored 5 goals tonight! Carrie was
awesome in net - making 27 saves!

What happened? Was it because
Brian (our good luck charm) wasn't at the game? Was it because we
were missing some folks to the Florida tournament? Was it because
Sue was the scorekeeper? Whatever the reason, let's get our winning
ways back - BE AT PRACTICE on the 10th!

Our loosing streak has finally been
broken!!!!! Carrie (aka "Gumby") made save after save against
a talented Bridgewater team. Phoebe scored 2
goals and held back on getting that hat trick during the final minutes of
play in order to play defensively to maintain our lead! WE RULE finally!!!!!!!!!!!!

This was a tough loss for QHC. The
Firebirds had their army while QHC brought a small platoon. Kris
Sava was awesome in goal - making save after save - down to the final
rush of the game. Two goals were scored by Carol Ann (with the
1st assist provided by Bev and the 2nd assist provided by Sue :).
With 5 minutes left in the game, Jackie Zohn (assisted by Bev) brought
QHC within a goal of tying the game. But, with only 9 players, QHC
simply ran out of steam.

This
was an exciting game to the very end as Queenston pulled their goalie
to try to tie the game. The first period ended as a 0-0 tie. Then
while killing a QHC penalty (Bev needed to rest so she took a hooking
penalty LOL), Trisha Thorme snuck into the slot and scored from a
beautiful pass from Jackie Zohn. The Lady Senators came back and
scored the next 3 goals during the 2nd and 3rd periods. But QHC
did not give up and with 45 seconds left in the game, Sarah Hatfield
(assisted by line mates Meghan Herz and Bev Cream ) brought the score
to within 1 goal.

0-4-0 |
On a beautiful Wednesday
morning, the daytime crew traveled up to Morristown to play the
Renegades. The game was closely fought but eventually a
full Renegades bench wore down the 7 players (Maryanne, Sue, Jackie,
Nicole, Carol Ann, Gretchen and Phoebe). Bev did an awesome job
of coaching while "injured" with the exception of the penalty
QHC drew for "too many women on the ice". Sue, huffing
and puffing skated to the bench for relief. Nicole had just gotten off
and was not ready to get back on so Sue skated back into the
play. Bev assumed she had gotten off and sent the extra
defenseman on to relieve Sue. Oooops....

the 3rd period. Despite loosing by 3 goals, this game was hard
fought but the puck did not want to go into the net!

Queenston players
fought hard and scored often but a one goal difference brought them
their first UHWL league loss. At the end of the first period, QHC
led the Americans scoring 3 goals to their 2, having fought back from
an initial 2 goal deficit. Kris Sava and Bev Radice-Cream each
tallied a goal providing the assist to each other. With 20
seconds left in the 1st period, Queenston "D" got into
the action and Kyle Foster, assisted by Ashley Quinlan scored the 3rd
goal.
Second and third period action had two
QHC newbies Meghan Herz (assisted by Sara Hatfield) and Sara
Hatfield (assisted by Robin McConaughy) scoring the next 2
goals. Great job and welcome to Queenston!

In non-league play,
Queenston lost it's first game of the season. Carrie did an
outstanding job in goal, facing 46 shots! Gretchen scored the
lone goal, assisted by Bev. Although QHC played a strong 2nd and
3rd period, the 4 goals scored by the Flames in Period 1 was just too
much to overcome.
