"At the University of Kentucky, the men's club team played its games at midnight on Fridays and Saturdays - I learned to watch hockey there. I learned to play and truly love the game more than nine years ago when I met my husband Jeff.  His father bought my first pair of hockey skates, and we picked up the rest of my gear on our honeymoon in Canada, where Jeff and his dad grew up. I started playing in Kentucky, then played five years in North Carolina - year-round hockey down south if you can believe it! I found the Queenies three and a half years ago through Green Lantern Trisha Thorme, emailing her weeks before I moved to New Jersey looking for ice and a local team. They welcomed me with beer and smiles!"
